light project in cities
in recent years , many big cities have launched the light project , which aims at lighting the nights of the city's streets . no doubt , this project can bring many benefits to citizens . above all , the whole city image is improved greatly . the city appears to be gorgeous and prosperous with the decoration of thousands of lights . besides , the citizens will feel much safer when going out at night .
however , as every coin has two sides , the light project also has some disadvantages . the most obvious one is that it costs much electricity . what's worse , excessive lithts can cause light pollution and thus affect people's health and at the same time do harm to our environment .
weighing the advantages and disadvantages , i think the light project should be continued since the citizens benefit from it . but the waste of energy must be controlled because our resources are very limited . therefore , the govermment should take effective measures to reduce the waste of energy .
