[00:09.58]springs up like mushroom in suburban areas 
[00:13.01]in recent years. 
[00:14.68]It is really hard to say

[00:18.30]or which university was the origin, 
[00:20.72]but this pattern is quickly replicated, 
[00:23.19]and now it’s challenging to find

[00:28.05]The causes for this fashion may be obvious.

[00:32.36]the new enrollment policy 
[00:33.90]encourages universities to admit freshmen 
[00:37.16]on a much larger scale than the past. 
[00:39.73]Accordingly, the original facilities, 
[00:41.83]including classrooms, apartments, 
[00:44.46]dining halls, laboratories, 
[00:46.62]libraries and the like, 
[00:48.24]all become insufficient.

[00:50.99]the land in urban area is costly, 
[00:53.71]and universities can hardly afford it. 
[00:56.57]A second campus in the suburb 
[00:59.22]can not only accommodate the swelling student body, 
[01:02.31]but is realistically affordable and economical 
[01:05.86]due to the relatively lower price of land
[01:08.90]and other essentials. 
[01:10.20]As a student of a university 
[01:12.36]with a second campus, 
[01:13.79]though enjoying more space, 
[01:15.58]I have also experienced inconvenience 
[01:18.45]between the two campuses, 
[01:20.08]because of the divided education resources, 
[01:23.34]the less direct communication 
[01:25.52]with other students and teachers, 
[01:27.17]and the time- and money-consuming 
[01:29.52]come-and-go. 
[01:30.51]Therefore, 
[01:31.30]we should think twice 
[01:32.44]before another second campus is set up.
