Is a Test of Spoken English Necessary?
As regards a test of spoken English, there has been a heated discussion among the general public in our society. People who believe in its necessity argue that spoken English test helps to evaluate students’ spoken English ability. WThat’s more，it will definitely stimulate students to lay more emphasis on listening and speaking, which are surely needed in their future career.
By contrast, others hold that spoken English test is of no necessity. According to a recent survey conducted by China Daily, a slight proportion (8,37 percent) of college graduates actually use spoken English in their daily work. In addition, spoken English test may not faithfully reflect the level and therefore cast doubt on college students.
As far as I am concerned, I am most happy to attend such a test of spoken English. I plan to seize every chance to improve my oral English ability so as to achieve outstanding performance in the coming test.(154 词）
