Reading Preferences
As revealed from the above pie chart on book flow of an American university library, a high proportion (68. 2 percent) of students prefer to read popular novels rather than other kinds of books， while unpopular fictions account for 16.8%，technical books 8.3% and poem collections 5.2% respectively.
There are several factors contributing to this reading preference. To begin with，popular novels are written in plain language so that one can easily read them for entertainment or relaxation. What’s more, books of technology and collections of poems are less appealing in that the former is often complicated and the latter abstract.
As to me，I spend much of my free time reading books in my specialized field—environmental protection. Also, I take great delight in reading nonfiction such as history and biography so as to be wiser and more reasonable. To turn my dream into reality, I must cherish every minute of my life and work hard. (155 词）
