Modem Technology and Human Intimacy
As regards the relationship between modem technology and human intimacy, there has been a heated discussion among people. Those who believe a positive relevance argue that the popularity of cell phones and Internet makes it available to contact friends or relatives easily both at home and abroad. What’s more, it is getting increasingly convenient to pay a visit to someone due to the constant improvement in vehicles.
By contrast, others hold that modem technology has widened instead of narrowed the gap. According to a recent survey conducted by CCTV, a high proportion (86.5 percent) of scientists admit that calls, on-line chat, E-mails or short messages lack emotional cue. Therefore, face to face communication can never be replaced. In addition, modem technology accelerates the pace of life, which contributes to less and less casual and real communication between people.
As far as I am concerned, technology does not play a decisive role. If we value friends and relatives，we should get close to them in person. Otherwise, they will feel emotionally distant. (172 词)
