Nowadays，many countries such as France, Great Britain have made it illegal to smoke at public places, including restaurants, bars, stores and workplaces, etc.
As a non-smoker, I am totally in favor of the ban. To begin with， smoking is not only harmful to the smoker himself, but also results in the diseases and deaths of non-smokers. According to a recent sur-vey conducted by WHO—the World Health Organization，passive smoking ranks first as the most common cause of death with a proportion of 23. 6 percent, while active smoking accounts for only 14. 8 percent.
