Tom is a 12-year-old boy. He studies at No.6 Middle School. He is crazy about football. It was late last Monday, but Tom was still watching TV in his room, because there was a wonderful football match on TV. He was so excited that he didn’t go to bed until twelve O’clock that night.
So the next morning, he overslept. It was already a quarter to eight, but he was still in bed. It was too late for Tom to go to school on time. He got up quickly and went to school without breakfast. By the time Tom got to school, it was eight. The teacher had begun her lesson. As soon as Tom came into the classroom, she got very angry and said, “What time is it now, Tom?” Tom felt sorry and said nothing. In English class, he had a test. As he didn’t go over his lesson at all, Tom failed his English test. How poor Tom was that day.
