An Impromptu Speech
Good evening, everyone. I havehadalotoffimattheparty. But when they asked me to make a speech in English, I almost had a heart attack. I guess I didn't have one, though, since I'm still standing here.
Most Chinese have trouble making public speeches, especially in English. Well,I am no exception.I have lived in America for some years, but don't expect I can speak like a VOA anchor. Foreign languages have always been difficult for me. I took English, Spanish, and French in school, but I flunked all those classes. But since then, I have learned the most important language. It’s the language of trust, openness, and understanding. This universal language has always brought people of different culturestogether.
Thank you for giving me this opportunity to speak to you. And next time, please warn me in advance!
