The Woman Mending Clothes
补衣妇坐在路旁
The woman mending clothes sits by the roadside.
行人走过路
When people pass by
路扬起沙土
Dust rises up,
补衣妇头巾上是沙土
Dust coats her kerchief,
衣服上是沙土
Dust grays her clothes.
她的孩子哭了
Her baby begins crying,
眼泪又被太阳晒干了
The child's tears dried by the sun;
她不知道
She does not notice it.
只是无声地想着她的家
Silently she thinks of her home,
她的被炮火毁掉的家
Its shelter destroyed by gunfire .
无声地给人缝补
Silently she mends clothes for people,
让孩子的眼
And lets her child's eyes,
可怜的眼
Those poor reddened eyes,
瞪着空了的篮子
Stare at the empty basket .
补衣妇坐在路旁
The woman mending clothes sits场the roadside.
路一直伸向无限
The road stretches away endlessly.
她给行路人补好袜子
She mends socks for some passer-by，
行路人走上了路
And the passer-by goes on.
