(7) Song Of The White Wild Geese
Liu Yin (1240-1293)
刘因
When the north wind first rose, the Northern Stream was chilled;
The second time it rose, the South with cold was filled.
The third time when it blew, white wild geese flew away;
The southernmost frontier grew cold, they could not stay.
The vernal breeze blew bot and cold three hundred years;
When the north wind sweeps o'er the land, it disappears.
For miles and miles on streams I think of freedom's reign
And wait for spring and wild geese to come back again.
