In vain you wielded spear to raise the setting sun.
徒把金戈挽落晖，
How could a Southern captive stop the north wind's run!
南冠无奈北风吹。
The hammer blow could not revenge the conquered State.
子房本为韩仇出，
How could the premier change the Western Kingdom's fate!
诸葛宁知汉祚移。
Frow cloudy Tripod Lake the dragon's far away.
云暗鼎湖龙去远，
On moonlit pillar could the immortal crane stay?
月明华表鹤归迟。
Why should we northward gaze again from Southern Tower?
不须更上新亭望，
Where on the conquered Southern shore can our tears shower!
大不如前洒泪时。
