上京即事二首

I
(一)
At sunset here and there disperse cattle and sheep;
牛羊散漫落日下,
The cheese is all the sweeter mingled with grass's scent.
野草生香乳酪甜。
The sand flies up like snow when gales of north wind sweep;
卷地朔风沙似雪,
All the felt curtains are let down from tent to tent.
家家行帐下毡帘。
II
(二)
It's hard to bend the bow in high wind at Great Wall,
紫塞风高弓力强,
But the young lords on hunting ground ride left and right.
王孙走马猎沙场。
Arrow at waist, they come back late with hawks they call,
呼鹰腰箭归来晚,
On both sides of the saddle hanging two wolves white.
马上倒悬双白狼。
