(103) Heart-broken Song
Li Yu (1611-1685)
李渔
The bygones one and all like dreams have passed away;
I'd live with fishermen in thatched cot night and day.
Can I forget your tenderness like endless thread?
Could I repay you with a stream of tears I shed?
If in another life we could be man and wife,
I would live with delight my lonely day and night.
Do not tell me to marry a beauty anew!
Could I find one on earth who knows my heart like you?
