Liu Bingzhong (1216-1274) styled Zhonghui, also known by his early name Kan. He was born in Xingzhou (today's Xingtai of Hebei Province). Once he quit his official position and became a secluded Buddhist monk in Mount Wu'an with the religious name Zicong and literary name Cangchun Shanren. Then he became an assistant to Kublai Khan. Twelve of his lyrics are extant. Either depicting scenery or expressing emotions, these poems are terse and vigorous.
刘秉忠(1216-1274) 初名侃,字仲晦。邢州(今河北邢台)人。曾弃官隐于武安山为僧,法名子聪,号藏春上人。后为忽必烈幕僚。现存小令十二首,写景抒情,风格健朗。

干荷叶·无题
Dry lotus leaves,
干荷叶,
Dark and brown,
色苍苍,
Shaking in the wind its bony stalk long,
老柄风摇荡,
Her color is deepened and balm gone.
减了清香,
The cause?
越添黄。
Last night by frost bound,
都因昨夜一场霜,
She lonely shivers in the autumn pond.
寂寞在秋江上。
