Lu Zhi (1235-1314) styled Chudao or Zilao, also known by his literary name Shuzhai or Songweng. Lu was born in Zhuojun (today's Zhuo County of Heber Province). He was known by his contemporaries for both his poetry and prose writing. His book A Collection of Shuzhai has been lost. In his own time Lu's name was paralleled with that of Yao Sui for the polish of their Sanqu poetry. However Lu was the better one in this respect both in terms of the actual achievement or the influence on the age. He was good at depicting country life and giving expressions to his meditations on the past in a fresh, fluent, natural, and lively style.
卢 挚（1235-1314） 字处道，一字莘老。号疏斋，又号嵩翁。涿郡（今河北涿县）人。诗文均有名于时，著有《疏斋集》，已佚。散曲与姚燧齐名，世称“姚卢”，实际上成就比姚燧高，在当时影响也更大。擅写田舍风光，怀古亦其所长。风格清新流丽，自然活泼。

Taking leave of blue waters and mountains whence,
恰离了绿水青山那答，
Now I've come to this thatched house with a bamboo fence.
早来到竹篱茅舍人家。
On either way wild flowers in bloom grow,
野花路畔开，
In village wine is being made to flow.
村酒槽头榨。
I drink to my heart's content, dizzy with intoxication.
直吃的欠欠答答。
Drunkard I am, the village boy does not stop me drinking again,
醉了山童不劝咱，
My white hair is dotted with yellow flowers plain.
白发上黄花乱插。
