大德歌·夏
My good-looking foeman①, where
俏冤家，
Are you, in the remotest region,
在天涯。
Tying your horse to green willows② here and there?
偏那里绿杨堪系马。
Often I think of you by the southern window,
困坐南窗下，
Sitting wearily in the cooling air.
数对清风想念他。
Who could now paint my faded curved brows③?
蛾眉淡了教谁画，
I have no heart to wear flowers, thin and lonely standing in my house.
瘦岩岩羞带石榴花。
① good-looking foeman: oxymoron, meaning lover.
② green willow: metaphor, implying other women.
③ Who could...brows: It is said that Zhang Chang in Han Dynasty loved his wife very much and often helped paint her eyebrows. Allusion here is self-evident.
