Bai Pu(1226-1306) styled himself Renfu or Taisu, with alias Mr. Langu. He was a native of Yuzhou (now the Hequ County, Shanxi Province). Bai Pu ranks among " the four Master Dramatists of the Yuan Dynasty" with Guan Hanqin, Ma Zhiyuan and Zheng Guangzu. He wrote sixteen plays, now three extant. Over thirty short lyrics and four sequences of Qu poems are found to his credit with a style of simplicity and fresh.
白朴(1226-1306)字仁甫,一字太素,号兰谷先生。祖籍隩州(今山西省河曲县)。白朴与关汉卿、马致远、郑光祖合称“元曲四大家”。一生共创作十六个剧本,现存三种。散曲现存三十多首,套数四篇,风格朴实清晰。

An idea man I find in the season's wind and moon pleasure of mine,
四时风月一闲身。
Though useless I am now,
无用人,
There is innocence in my indulgence in poetry and wine.
诗酒乐天真。
