Li Zhiyuan about whose life little is known, and he stayed in Liyang (belonging to today's Jiangsu Probvince) in the Zhiyuan Period in the Reign of Shizu Emperor of Yuan dynasty, and associated with Qiu Yuan. Twenty-six short lyrics and four song sequences of his have been survived.
李致远 世祖至元中客溧阳（今属江苏），曾与仇远交游，生平不详。存世散曲有小令二十六首，套数四套。

风吹皱一池寒玉。
There up in the painted tower one suffers from the word:
画楼中有人情正苦，
"Better go home, better go home", calls the cuckoo bird.
杜鹃声莫啼归去。
