Lu Cang Introduced a Guest to His Sovereign
【原文】
周相吕仓见客于周君。前相工师藉恐客之伤己也，因令人谓周君 曰客者，辩士也。然而所以不可者，好毁人。”
【今译】
东周相国吕仓把一位客人介绍给东周的国君。前任相国工师藉害 怕客人诋毁自己，于是派人对东周国君说：“广客人是位能言善辩之士，但不能任用他，因为他喜欢诋毁别人。”
Lu Cang, the prime minister of the state of East Zhou, introduced a guest to his sovereign, Gongshi Ji，the former prime minister，was afraid that the guest might speak ill of him in front of the sovereign, so he sent someone to inform the sovereign, “The guest is a persuasive talker. However, you cannot employ him in the government for he likes to defame others.”
