Someone Talked with Jin Tou on Behalf of Zhou Ju
【原文】
或为周（最）谓金投曰广秦以周（最）之齐疑天下，而又知 赵之难（子>[予]齐人战；恐齐、（韩）[赵]之合，必先合于（秦）[齐].秦、 齐合，则公之国虚矣。公不如救齐，因佐秦而伐韩、魏，上党长子，赵之 有已！公（东）[西]收宝于秦，南取地于韩，魏因以（因）[困],徐为之东，则有合矣.
【今译】
有人替周（最）对金投说秦国因为周（最）到了齐国就怀 疑天下各国要联合起来对付它，而又知道赵国难以跟齐国交战。它担 心齐国跟赵国联合，一定会率先跟齐国交好。秦国和齐国联合起来，那 您的国家就会成为废墟了。您不如拉拢齐国，趁机帮助秦国进攻韩国 和魏国，上党和长子就属于赵国了 ！您向东可以收取秦国的宝物，向南可以获取韩国的土地，魏国也会因此陷入困顿。慢馒向东靠拢，您就能跟齐国交好."
Someone talked with Jin Tou on behalf of Zhou Ju. He said, “Because Zhou Ju has escaped to the state of Qi，the state of Qin suspects that other states are associating with each other to conspire against it. It also knows that it is difficult to make the states of Zhao and Qi become involved in warfare. Qin fears that the states of Qi and Zhao might build up an alliance, so it will try to establish diplomatic relations with Qi first. If the states of Qin and Qi unite with each other, your state，Zhao, will become ruined. You’d better win over Qi and assist Qin to attack the states of Han and Wei. Then Shangdang and Zhangzi will belong to Zhao. Hence，you can obtain precious treasures from Qin in the west, gain some land from Han in the south and take occasion to weaken Wei at the same time. As a result，you can impose
your influence in the east and establish a firm relationship with Qi. ”
