齐听祝弗
The King of the State of Qi Trusted Zhu Fu
【原文】
齐听祝弗，外周（最）。谓齐王曰广逐周（最）、听祝弗、相吕礼者，欲深取秦也秦得天下，则伐齐深矣。（夫）[秦]齐合，则赵恐 伐，故急兵以示秦。秦以赵攻，与之齐伐赵，其实同理，必不处矣。故用 祝弗，即天下之理也。’
【今译】
齐国信任祝弗，疏远周（最）。有人对齐王说您驱逐周（最），听信祝弗，并且任用吕礼做相国，就是想加深跟秦国的交情。秦 国要是获取了天下，就会变本加厉地进攻齐国了,秦国跟齐国联合，起 国就会担心自己被讨伐，因此就会急忙派兵进攻齐国来向秦国表明自 己的态度。秦国用赵国攻打齐国，跟让齐国攻打赵国，道理其实是一样 的.齐国一定不能保全了。所以任用祝弗就会促成秦国获取天下。”
The king of the state of Qi trusted Zhu Fu and estranged Zhou Ju. Someone told the king，“The reason why you have sent away Zhou Ju，trusted and employed Zhu Fu，and appointed Lij Li to be prime minister lies in the fact that you want to establish strong relations with the state of Qin. If Qin takes control of the world, it will definitely focus on attacking Qi. If Qi unites with Qin，the state of Zhao will fear that it will be attacked by the allied forces of these two states. So it will send troops to attack Qi immediately to show its attitude towards Qin, Whether Qin manipulates Zhao to attack Qi，or manipulates Qi to attack Zhao, the result will be the same： we will no longer be able to keep our state safe. Hence, trusting and appointing Zhu Fu will facilitate Qin’s gaining the whole world. ”
