赵取周之祭地
Zhao Occupied East Zhou‘s Land Used for Holding Sacrifices
【原文】
赵取周之祭地，周君患之，告于郑朝。郑朝曰：“君勿患也，臣请以 二十金复取之。”周君予之。郑朝献之赵太卜，因告以祭地事。及王病， 使卜之。太卜谴之曰：“周之祭地为祟。”赵乃还之。
【今译】
赵国夺取了东周祭祀用的土地，东廁的国君非常担忧，把此事告诉 了郑朝。郑朝说大王不必担忧，请给我三十斤黄金重新收复那块土 地广东周国君给了他三十斤黄金，郑朝把金子献给了赵国的太卜，并且 把祭祀用的土地一事告诉了他?等到赵王生病的时候，他命令大卜占 卜，太卜告诉他说：“是东周的祭祀用的土地在作祟。”于是赵国将那片 土地归还给了东周。
The state of Zhao occupied the state of East Zhou’s land used for holding sacrifices. The sovereign of East Zhou worried about this very much and he told Zheng Chao. Zheng Chao said, “Please donf t worry about it，Your Majesty. Please allow me to take the land back at the cost of thirty jin of gold. ” The sovereign of East Zhou agreed, Zheng Chao presented the gold to the minister in charge of augury of the state of Zhao, and also told the minister about tho land used for holding sacrifices. After some time, the sovereign of Zhao felt sick and ordered the minister in charge of augury to divine. The minister told him，“The spirit of East Zhou’ s land used for holding sacrifice is haunting you.” As a result, the state of Zhao returned that land to East Zhou.
