昌他亡西周
Chang Tuo Escaped from West Zhou
【原文】
昌他亡西周，之东周，尽输西周之情于东周。东周大喜，西周大怒。 冯（旦）[且]曰：“臣能杀之。”君予金三十斤。冯（旦）[且]使人操金与 书，间遗昌他。书曰告昌他：事可成，勉成之；不可成，亟亡来亡来。 事久且泄，自令身死！”因使人告东周之候曰：”今夕有奸人当人者矣。“候得而献东周T东周立杀昌他。
【今译】
昌他逃离西周，来到东周，把西周的所有实情都告诉了东周，东周 的国君非常高兴，西周的国君非常愤怒。冯且对西周国君说我能把 昌他杀了。”西周国君给了他三十斤黄金。冯且安排一个人拿着金子和 一封信暗中送给昌他，信上写着：“敬告昌他：事情如果能办成，就尽力 去办；如果不能办成，就赶紧逃回来。事情拖得久了就会泄露，那就自 取灭亡了！”又派人告诉东周负责侦察的官吏说：“今天晚上会有奸细入 境负责侦察的官吏抓住这个奸细并把他交给了东周国君，东周国君立即将昌他处死了。

Feng Ju told the sovereign of West Zhou, “I can kill Chang Tuo.” The sovereign then gave him thirty jin of gold. Feng Ju sent a spy to East Zhou with the gold and a letter. The letter said, “Chang Tuo, if you can succeed in taking action (against East Zhou), please try your best to do so. If you cannot, please return immediately. Return immediately! Our secret will be discovered if the plot drags on for too long a time, and as a result, you might lose your life.” Then he sent another messenger to inform East Zhou's officer in charge of inspection，“ A spy will enter your state tonight. " The officer in charge of inspection caught the spy and handed him up to the sovereign of East Zhou. Then the sovereign of East Zhou beheaded Chang Tuo.
