楚兵在山南
Chu Deployed Its Troops on the Southern Side of Mount Yique
【原文】
楚兵在山南，吾得将为楚王属（怒）[怨]于周。或谓周君曰不如 令太子将军正迎吾得于境，而君自郊迎，令天下皆知君之重吾得也^因 泄之楚，曰周君所以事吾得者器，必名曰谋。’楚王必求之，而吾得无 效也，王必罪之。"
【今译】
楚国军队部署在伊阙山南侧，楚国将军吾得将要替楚王到西周去 结怨（即挑起战争）。有人对西周国君说不如派太子率军正一起到边 境上迎接吾得，而大王您则亲自到京郊迎接他，让天下人都知道大王非 常尊重吾得。再暗地里向楚国透露消息说：‘西周国君送给吾得的东西 必定名为“谋楚王一定想得到它，但吾得却拿不出来，楚王必定会怪罪他。"
The state of Chu deployed its troops on the southern side of Mount Yique, Wu De，the general of Chu, was going to irritate the state of West Zhou C referring to provoking warfare between the two states). Somebody told West Zhou’s sovereign, “Your Majesty, you’d better send the crown prince to the border with Jun Zheng (army officer in charge of executing the law) to welcome Wu De，and then go to the suburbs to meet him yourself* Thus we will make people all over the world know that Your Majesty respects Wu De very much. Then we can secretly divulge the following message to Chu ； ‘ The gift prestented to Wu De by West Zhou’s sovereign must be called “Mou”.，The king of Chu will definitely ask Wu De for the treasure. But Wu De cannot present it to him. As a result，the king will blame Wu De."
