张仪之残樗里疾也，重而使之楚，因令楚王为之请相于秦。张子谓 秦王U:“重樗里疾而使之者，将以为国交也.今身在楚，楚王因为请相于秦。臣闻其言曰：‘王欲穷仪于秦乎？臣请助王/楚王以为然，故为 请相也。今王诚听之，彼必以国事楚王。”秦王大怒，樗里疾出走，
【今译】
张仪陷害樗里疾，故意抬高他的身份地位，让他出使楚国。于是让 楚王替樗里疾请求秦国相国的职位。张仪对秦王说：‘提高樗里疾的身 份地位，让他出使楚国，是想让他替秦国跟楚国建立邦交。如今他身在楚囯，于是楚王就替他请求秦国相国的职位。我听说他说过：‘大王想让张仪在秦国遭受困厄吗？请让我帮助大王。’楚王以为他说得对，所 以为他请求相国一职。现在大王果真听信他，他一定会利用秦国来侍 奉楚国/’秦王十分愤怒，樗里疾逃走了。
