齐闵王之遇杀
King Min of Qi Was Murdered
【原文】
齐闵王之遇杀，其子法章变姓名，为莒太史家庸夫。太史敫女奇法 章之状貌，以为非常人,怜而常窃衣食之，与私焉。莒中及齐亡臣相聚， 求闵王子，欲立之。法章乃自言于莒，共立法章为襄王。襄王立，以太 史氏女为王后，生子建\太史敫曰女无谋而嫁者，非吾种也，污吾世矣！”终身不睹。君王后贤，不以不睹之故失人子之礼也。
【今译】
齐闵王遇害被杀后，他的儿子法章隐姓埋名，做了莒国太史家的佣 人。太史敫的女儿惊诧于法章奇伟的相貌，以为他是一个不同寻常的 人，同情他而且经常窃取家中的衣服和食物送给他，跟他私通，莒国和 齐国逃亡的大臣相聚，寻找闵王的儿子，想立他为王。于是法章自己告 诉莒国人他就是太子，大家一起拥立法章为齐襄王。襄王即位后，把太 史家的女儿立为王后，生下太子建。太史敫说：“女孩子没有经过媒人 介绍就出嫁，不配做我的孩子，玷污了我家的门风！”终生不见他的女儿。君王后很贤惠，不因为父亲不再见自己就不行做人子女的礼节。
King Min of the state of Qi was murdered. Fa Zhang,the son of the king，changed his name, escaped to the state of Ju and worked there for the Taishis as a servant. The daughter of Taishi Jiao admired his extraordinary countenance and thought that he was not an ordinary person. So she often stole some clothes and food from the family to support him. She also developed a love affair with him. In order to find the prince of King Min of Qi and therefore enthrone him as the new king of the state of Qi，officials of the state of Ju and Qi，s high-ranking court officials taking refuge in Ju had a meeting. Then Fa Zhang told them that he himself was the prince. Thus they enthroned him to be the new king and addressed him as King Xiang of the state of Qi. After King Xiang came into power，he designated the daughter of the Taishis as queen. She gave birth to their son—Jian. Taishi Jiao declared, “Instead of marrying through a matchmaker. she married out of her own free will. I will no longer regard her as my daughter. I feel disgraced for this reason," Then he refused to see his daughter again for the rest of his life. The queen—Jun Wanghou— was a very worthy person. So she still treated Taishi Jiao according to the rules of propriety stipulated for children even though she never saw him again.

襄王卒，子建立为齐王。君王后事秦谨，与诸侯信，以故建立四十 有余年不受兵.秦始皇尝使使者遗君王后玉连环，曰齐多知，而解此 环不？”君王后以示群臣，群臣不知解。君王后引椎椎破之，谢秦使曰: “谨以解矣。”
【今译】
裏王死后，太子建被立为齐王君王后谨慎地侍奉秦国，跟各国诸 侯交往都非常诚信，因此建继承王位后四十多年都没有遭受别国入侵6 秦始皇曾经派使者送给君王后一个玉连环，说齐国有很多非常聪明 的人，能解开这个环吗？ ”君王后把这个玉连环拿给群臣看，群臣都不知 道怎么解开它。君王后拿起一把锤子把它敲破了，向秦国使者道歉说: “我小心翼翼地解开它了
After King Xiang died，Jian was enthroned to be the new king of the state of Qi, Jun Wanghou was very careful in dealing with the state of Qin and very honest with other statesf sovereigns. Accordingly，the state of Qi was free from aggression for more than forty years after Jian ’ s enthronement. Emperor Qin Shihuang once sent an emissary to present Jun Wanghou with a set of jade puzzle rings and send a message as follows： “There are a lot of very intelligent people in the state of Qi, Can you untie these rings?” Jun 'Wanghou showed her high-ranking court officials the puzzle rings，but no one knew how to untie them. Jun Wanghou fetched a pestle and broke the rings. Then she appologized to the emissary from Qin，“Now I have untied them carefully, ” When Jun Wanghou was dying，she warned Jian, “Among the high-ranking court officials, you can rely on…” Jian said, “Please let me write it down, ” Jun Wanghou said， “Fine," After Jian had brush and bamboo slips prepared，Jun Wanghou said，“I have forgotten those names.”

及君王后病，且卒，诫建曰群臣之可用者某。”建曰请书之。”君 王后曰：“善。”取笔牍受言，君王后曰老妇已亡矣！”君王后死，后后胜 相齐，多受秦间金玉，使宾客人秦，皆为变辞，劝王朝秦，不修攻战之备。
【今译】
等到君王后病重，将要死了，她告诫建说群臣之中可以重用的有 哪些人。”建说请把他们的名字写下来吧。”君王后说好吧。”取来笔 和竹简准备记录她的话，君王后说我已经忘记要说什么了。”君王后 死了。后来后胜做了齐国的相国，接受了秦国离间之人的很多黄金美 玉，派宾客到秦国去，回来汇报的时候都不说实话，劝说齐王朝拜秦王， 不作攻战的准备。
After Jun Wanghou died，Hou Sheng became prime minister of the state of Qi. Hou Sheng accepted huge amounts of gold and jade from the spies of the state of Qin aimed at alienating the relationship between Jian and his inferiors. If emissaries were sent to Qin, they didn’t report the truth to Jian when they returned‘ They persuaded Jian to submit to Qin' king. As a result, all the defence installations in Qi were neglected.
