魏氏恶昭奚恤于楚王
A Man from Wei Spoke III of Zhao Xixu in Front of Chu's King
【原文】
魏氏恶昭奚恤于楚王，楚王告昭子。昭子“臣朝夕以事听命，而魏人吾君臣之间，臣大惧。臣非畏魏也，夫泄吾君臣之交，而天下信之， 是其为人也近苦矣。夫苟不难为之外，岂忘为之内乎？臣之得罪无曰 矣。”王曰寡人知之，大夫何患？”
【今译】
魏国人在楚宣王面前说昭奚恤的坏话，楚宣王告诉了昭奚恤。昭奚恤说我从早到晚侍奉大王，唯命是从，而魏国却想离间我们君臣之 间的关系，我非常恐惧。我并非害怕魏国人,他们泄露我们君臣之间 的内情，让其他国家相信他们的话，他们的为人怎么如此险恶呢？如果 一个外国人都能轻易地这么做，国内的人难道会忘记加害于我吗？我 没几天就会获罪了。”楚宣王说我知道的，大人担心什么呢？”
A man from the state of Wei spoke ill of Zhao Xixu in front of King Xuan of the state of Chu. The king told Zhao Xixu about it. Zhao Xixu said，‘I serve you and carry out your orders from morning till night. However, this person from Wei is trying to alienate us. I am terrified by this. Nonetheless, I am not afraid of Wei. This man is going to tell the relationship between Your Majesty and me, your high-ranking court official，to other states. How vicious he is! If a foreigner can do that so easily，how can our citizens forget to do harm to me? I know I will be accused of some fabricated sins soon," King Xuan of Chu said，“Don’t worry, master. I understand."
