In the Capital of Ying，a Man’s Lawsuit Had Not Been Dealt with for Three Years

郢人有狱三年不决者，故令请其宅，以卜其罪。客因为之谓昭奚恤 曰郢人某氏之宅，臣愿之。”昭奚恤曰:“郢人某氏，不当服罪，故其宅 不得
【今译】
楚国郢都有一个人的一件官司三年还没有判决，就特意安排一个 人假装要买他的房子，来试探自己是否会被判有罪。一位客人因为这 件事对昭奚恤说郢都某某人的房子，我想买下来.”眧奚恤说郢都 的某某人不该被判有罪，所以您得不到他的房子。”
Once there was a man in the capital of Ying, whose lawsuit was not decided in three years. He was not sure whether or not he would be declared guilty, so he pretended to sell his house to ascertain the verdict. A guest went to see Zhao Xixu for this reason and said, “I want to buy that person’s hou.se in Ying. ” Zhao Xixu said, “That person in Ying won’t be convicted* So you cannot purchase his house. ”

客辞而去。昭奚恤巳而悔之，因谓客曰奚恤得事公，公何为以故 与奚恤？ ”客曰非用故也。”曰（谓）[请]而不得，有说色，非故如何 也?”
【今译】
客人告辞走了 ^过了一会儿，昭奚恤后悔自己刚才说的话了，于是 对客人说我为您做事，您为什么跟我玩花样？”客人说广我没有玩什 么花样啊昭奚恤说您请求买那房子而没有得逞，脸上有喜悦的神 色，不是玩花样又是什么？”
Then the guest said good-bye to Zhao Xixu. Zhao Xixu regretted having disclosed that, so he asked the guest, “I am helping you. But why did you play double-dealing with me?” The guest said，“I didn’t play double-dealing.” Zhao Xixu said, “Well，you appeared happy on your face after I refused your request. Wasn^t that double-dealing?"
