Gan Mao United with Wei for Qin to Attack Han’s Yiyang
【原文】
甘茂为秦约魏以攻韩宜阳，又北之赵，泠向谓强国曰广不如令赵拘 甘茂，勿出，以与齐、韩、秦市。齐王欲求救宜阳，必效县狐氏。韩欲有 宜阳，必以路、涉、端氏赂赵,秦王欲得宜阳，不爱名宝。且拘茂也，且 以置公孙赫、樗里疾。”
【今译】
甘茂为秦国联合魏国一起攻打韩国的宜阳，又向北来到赵国。泠向对强国说广不如让赵国扣押甘茂，不放他走，用他跟齐国、韩国和秦 国做交易。齐王想援救宜阳，必定会献出狐氏,韩国想保全宜阳，必定 会拿路、涉、端氏贿路大王.秦国想得到宜阳，就不会吝惜有名的宝物。 而且扣押了甘茂，公孙郝和樗里疾将会受到重用。”
For the benefit of the state of Qin，Gan Mao united with the state of Wei to attack Yiyang of the state of Han. Then he headed northwards for the state of Zhao. If the king of Qin wants Yiyang? he won’t hesitate to give you precious treasures. Moreover, if we detain Gan Mao, Gongsun Hao and Chu Liji will be assigned to powerful posts. ”
