【原文】
秦攻赵，鼓铎之音闻于北堂。希卑曰夫秦之攻赵，不宜急如此此召兵也，必有大臣欲衡者耳。王欲知其人，旦日赞群臣而访之，先言 横者，则其人也。”建信君果先言横。
【今译】
秦国军队进攻赵国，赵国摇动大铃报警的声音在北堂里都能听到。 希卑说秦军进攻赵国，不应该这么急迫。这是内应召唤敌军的信号，大臣中必定有想连横的,大王想知道是谁，明夭召见群臣咨询他们的 意见，先提议连横的就是那个人了 建信君果然率先提议连横。
