Zhao Asked Zhao Zhuang to Ally with Other States
【原文】
赵使赵庄合从，欲伐齐。齐请效地，赵因贱赵庄。齐明为谓赵王 曰“广齐畏从人之合也，故效地。今闻赵庄贱，张憋贵，齐必不效地矣” 赵王曰”善”乃召赵庄而贵之-
【今译】
赵国派赵庄联合别的国家，想攻打齐国。齐国请求进献土地，于是 赵国轻视赵庄,齐明为赵庄对赵王说”齐国害怕我们跟别的国家联合，所以进献土地。如今听说赵庄受到轻视、张慇显贵，齐国必定不会 把土地进献给我们了”赵王说：“好。”于是召见赵庄并且重用他。

On Zhao Zhuang’s behalf，Qi Ming had a talk with the king of Zhao and said, “The state of Qi fears that we might successfully build an alliance with other states ? so it promised to cede some land to us. If Qi hears that Zhao Zhuang has lost power，and Zhang Qin becomes more powerful, it certainly won’t cede the land to us, ” The king of Zhao said, “I see.” Then he called in Zhao Zhuang and appointed him to a powerful position.
