Zhao Sent Yao Jia to Ally with Han and Wei
【原文】
赵使姚贾约韩、魏，韩、魏以友之。举茅为姚贾谓赵王曰广贾也，王 之忠臣也。韩、魏欲得之，故友之，将使王逐之，而己因受之,今王逐 之，是韩、魏之欲得，而王之忠臣有罪也。故王不如勿逐，以明王之贤，而折韩、魏招之。”
【今译】
赵国派姚贾跟韩国和魏国结盟，韩国和魏国背敖了盟约,举茅为 姚贾对赵王说姚贾是大王的忠臣。韩国和魏国想得到他，故意背叛 了盟约，想让大王驱逐他，而自己却趁机接受他。如今大王驱逐他，这 样一来，韩国和魏国的愿望就得到满足了，而大王的忠臣却获了罪。所以大王不如不驱逐他，来彰示大王的贤明，并且挫敗韩国和魏国想得到 姚贾的企图
The state of Zhao sent Yao Jia to ally with the state of Han and the state of Wei. However, Han and Wei turned against Yao Jia. On behalf of Yao Jia, Ju Mao had a talk with the king of Zhao and said，“ Yao Jia is a loyal court official of yours, Han and Wei want to win him over, so they turned against him on purpose so that Your Majesty would exile him. Then they could employ him themselves. Now if you exile him, Han and Wei will fulfill their wish，but your loyal court official will be punished. Therefore, you'd better not exile him. Thus you can show your wisdom and frustrate Han and Wei’s desire to win him over. ”
