秦召春平侯
Qin Called in Marquis Chunping
【原文】
秦召春平侯，因留之。世钧为之谓文信侯曰春平侯者，赵王之所 甚爱也，而郎中甚妒之，故相与谋曰："春平侯入秦，秦必留之。’故谋而人之秦.今君留之，是空绝赵而郎中之计中也。故君不如遣春平侯而 留平都侯。春平侯者言行于赵王，必厚割赵以事君，而赎平都侯文信 侯曰：“善。”因与接意而遣之。
【今译】
秦国把春平侯召来，趁机扣留了他。世钧为春平侯对文信候说: “春平候是赵王非常宠爱的人，然而郎中们非常妒忌他，所以互相商量 说：‘春平侯到了秦国，秦国一定会扣留他。’所以密谋把他弄到了秦国。如今您扣留了他，这就白白断绝了跟赵国的关系，而且让郎中们的阴谋 得逞。所以您不如放春平侯回去而把平都侯扣留下来。春平侯的话起 王会听从，他一定会从赵国割让大片的土地来侍奉您，并且赎回平都 候。”文信侯说好。”于是盛情款待春平侯并放他回国。
The state of Qin summoned Marquis Chunping and then detained him. On Marquis Chunping’s behalf，Shi Jun had a talk with Marquis Wenxin and said, “Marquis Chunping used to be cherished very much by the king of the state of Zhao, However, other beloved officials of the king were very jealous of Marquis Chunping. So they conspired against him and said to each other，‘If Marquis Chunping enters the state of Qin， Qin will definitely detain him. ’ So，they schemed to make him come to Qin. Now if you detain him，not only will you harm the relations with Zhao for nothing，but you will also help those officials promote their scheme. So, it would be better if you let Marquis Chunping go back to Zhao and detain Marquis Pingdu. Marquis Chunping7s advice is always taken by the king of Zhao. He will certainly cede a lot of Zhaoy s land to bribe you as well as atone for Marquis Pingdu. ” Marquis Wenxin said，“This is a good idea,” Then he held grand banquets in Marquis Chunping’s honour and sent him back to Zhao.
