齐王将见燕赵楚之相于卫
Qi’s King Was About to Meet the Prime Ministers of Yan， Zhao and Chu in Wei
【原文】
齐王将见燕、赵、楚之相于卫，约外魏。魏王惧，恐其谋伐魏也，告 公孙衍。公孙衍曰王与臣百金，臣请败之王为约车，载百金。犀首 期齐王至之（曰）[日]，先以车五十乘至卫，间齐行以百金，以请先见齐王。乃得见，因久坐，安从容谈三国之相怨。
【今译】
齐王将要到卫国会见燕国、赵国和楚国的相国，跟他们相约孤立魏 国。魏王害怕了，担心他们会图谋攻打魏国，就告诉了公孙衍。公孙衍 说广大王给我一百镒黄金，让我敗坏这件事。”魏王为他准备了车子，装 栽着一百镒黄金。在公孙衍预料齐王到达卫国的那天，他先带着五十辆车子来到卫国，用一百镒黄金收买了齐国的使者，来请求先见齐王。于是得以面见，坐了很长时间，从容不迫地谈论起燕、赵、楚三国之间的恩怨。
The king of the state of Qi was going to meet the prime ministers of Yan, Zhao and Chu in the state of Wei II to make an agreement with them to isolate the state of Wei I . The king of Wei I was frightened and feared that they might unite with each other to invade his state‘ So he told Gongsun Yan about it. Gongsun Yan said, “Your Majesty，if you give me one hundred yi of gold, 1 can destroy their scheme against you. ” The king then had carriages prepared for him and also provided him one hundred yi of gold. On the day Gongsun Yan thought that the king of Qi might arrive in Wei H , he went there first with fifty carriages and bought off the messenger from Qi with the one hundred yi of gold he carried. Then he begged to meet the king of Qi first and gained the permission. So he sat there leisurely for a long time discussing the enmity between Yan, Zhao and Chu with the king.
【原文】
谓齐王曰: “王与三国约外魏，魏使公孙衍来，今久与之谈，是王谋 三国也（也）。”齐王曰：“魏王闻寡人来，使公孙子劳寡人，寡人无与 之语也三国之（不）相[不]信齐王之（遇）[语]，遇事遂败。
【今译】
有人对齐王说：“大王跟三个国家相约孤立魏国，魏国派公孙衍来 到这里。今天跟他交谈了很长时间，这是大王图谋三个国家啊。”齐王 说魏王听说我来了，派公孙先生来慰问我，我没跟他说什么三个国 家不相信齐王的话，会晤一事终归失败。
Someone told the king of Qi，“You have made an agreement with those three states to isolate the state of Wei I，but Wei I has sent Gongsun Yan here. Today you have taken a long time talking with him. It shows that you are going to conspire against those three states.” The king of Qi said, “The king of Wei I heard that I was coming here，so he has sent Mr Gongsun here to greet me. I didn’t talk about anything important with him.” Those three states didn’t believe these words of the king of Qi, so，in the end，his plan resulted in failure.
