【原文】
张仪告公仲，令以饥故，赏韩王以近河外。魏王惧，问张子。张子 曰秦欲救齐，韩欲攻南阳，秦、韩合而欲攻南阳，无异也。且以遇卜 王，王不遇秦，韩之卜也决矣。”魏王遂尚遇秦信韩，广魏救赵，尺楚人遽于萆下。伐齐之事遂败。
【今译】
张仪告诉公仲，让他以饥荒为借口，劝说韩王把百姓迁移到靠近河 外的地区。魏王害怕了，向张仪询问对策。张仪说：“秦国想营救齐国， 韩国想进攻南阳，秦国和韩国联合起来，打算攻打南阳，这是没有疑问 的.它们将要根据大王是否跟它们联合来判断大王的态度，大王不跟 秦国联合，韩国的推测就成立了。”于是魏王就跟秦国联合，争取韩国的 信任，扩展魏国的土地，营救赵国，在萆下斥责楚国的使者。于是攻打齐国一事失败了。
