魏秦伐楚
Wei and Qin Attacked Chu
【原文】，
魏、秦伐楚，魏王不欲.楼缓谓魏王曰广王不与秦攻楚，楚且与秦 攻王。王不如令秦、楚战，王交制之也
【今译】
魏国和秦国一起进攻楚国，魏王不想这么做,楼缓对魏王说：“大 王不跟秦国一起进攻楚国，楚国就要跟秦国一起进攻大王。大王不如 让秦国和楚国开战，就可以把它们都控制起来
The state of Wei and the state of Qin planned to attack the state of Chu together，but the king of Wei was reluctant to do so, Lou Huan persuaded him, “If you don’t join Qin in attacking Chu, Chu will join Qin in attacking you. It would be better if you let Qin and Chu engage in a war with each other，then you can control both of them,”
