Marquis Rang Attacked the Capital of Liang
【原文】
穣侯攻大梁，（乘）[人]北（郢）[宅]，魏王且从。谓穰侯曰君攻 楚，得宛、穣以广陶；攻齐，得刚（博）[寿]以广陶；[攻魏，]得许、鄢陵以 广陶，秦王不问者，何也？以大梁之未亡也。今日大梁亡，许、鄢陵必 议，议则君必穷。为君计者，勿攻便。”
【今译】
穣侯进攻大梁，攻克北宅，魏王即将投降,有人对穣候说：“您进攻楚国，占领了宛、穣来扩大昀的地盘；进攻齐国，占领了刚寿来扩大陶的 地盘；占领了许、鄢陵来扩大陶的地盘.秦王没有过问这些事，为什么？ 因为大梁还没有攻克的缘故,如今大梁就要灭亡了，必定有人非议您 占有许和鄢陵。有人非议，您必然要陷入困境了。为您考虑，不攻打大 梁是有利的。”

Why? Because the capital of Liang has not yet been destroyed. Now if you destroy the capital of Liang, there will be people protesting against your keeping Xu and Yanling for yourself. If this is the case, you will find yourself at an impasse. For your sake, you’d better give up attacking Liang.”
