楚昭献相韩
Zhao Xian from Chu Served as Prime Minister of Han
【原文】
楚昭献相韩。秦且攻韩，韩废昭献。昭献令人谓公叔曰：“不如贵昭献以固楚，秦必曰楚、韩合矣。”
【今译】
楚国的昭献做了韩国的相国。秦军即将进攻韩国，韩国罢免了昭献。昭献派人对公叔说：“不如抬高我的权位来巩固跟楚国的关系，秦 国一定会说楚国和韩国联合起来了。”
Zhao Xian, a person from the state of Chu, served as prime minister of the state of Han. The troops of Qin were about to attack the state of Han, and Han dismissed Zhao Xian from office. Zhao Xian sent someone to take the following message to Gongshu： “You’d better help me consolidate my power and thus improve Han’s relations with the state of Chu. If this is the case，the people of the state of Qin will say，‘Look，Chu and Han have built an alliance with each other. ”，
