The War in Xiangling
【原文】
襄陵之役，毕长谓公叔曰请毋用兵，而楚、魏皆德公之国矣。夫 楚欲置公子高，必以兵临魏。公何不令人说昭子曰：‘战未必胜，请为子 起兵以之魏J子有辞以毋战，于是以太子扁、昭扬、梁王皆德公矣。”

襄陵战役中，毕长对公叔说请不要用兵，楚国和魏国都会感激您 的国家了,楚国想立公子高，一定会起兵紧逼魏国，您何不派人游说昭 阳说：‘战争未必一定能取得胜利。请让我为您起兵逼近魏国/您找出 理由不参战，于是太子扁、昭阳、魏王都会感激您的
