公叔使冯君于秦
Gongshu Sent Feng Jun to Qin on a Diplomatic Mission
【原文】
公叔使冯君于秦，恐留，教阳向说秦王曰留冯君以善韩（臣） [辰]，非上知也。主君不如善冯君而资之以秦。冯君广王而不听公叔， 以与太子争，则王泽布而害于韩矣。”、
【今译】
公叔派冯君到秦国去，冯君恐怕自己被扣留，让阳向游说秦王说: “扣留冯君并且善待韩辰，并非上策啊。您不如善待冯君而且用秦国来 帮助他。冯君感激大王而且不听从公叔调遣，来跟太子争夺权势，那大 王的德泽就会遍布韩国而且能改善跟韩国的交情。”
Gongshu sent Feng Jun to the state of Qin on a diplomatic mission. Feng Jun feared that he might be detained，so he asked Yang Xiang to advise the king of Qin as follows： “It is not wise to detain Feng Jun and at the same time treat Han Chen well. It would be better if you treat Feng Jun well and support him with your state. Thus Feng Jun will be grateful to you refuse to carry out Gongshu9 s orders to help him vie with the crown prince for the throne. As a result? your benevolence will become well known and your relations with the state of Han will also be improved. ”
