Qi Ming Had a Talk with Gongshu
【原文】
齐明谓公叔曰广齐逐几瑟，楚善之。今楚欲善齐甚，公何不令齐王 谓楚王：‘王为我逐几瑟以穷之。’楚听，是齐、楚合而几瑟走也；楚王不听，是有阴于韩也。”
【今译】
齐明对公叔说齐国驱逐了几瑟，楚国对他很好。如今楚国很想 跟齐国建立良好关系，您为什么不让齐王对楚王说：‘大王为我把几瑟赶走，让他陷入困見。’楚王听从了，齐国和楚国就能联合起来，而且几瑟就会被赶走；楚王不听，那就是跟韩国暗地里有什么勾当。”
Qi Ming had a talk with Gongshu and said, “The people of Qi have driven Ji Se out of their state, but the state of Chu treats him very well. Now the state of Chu wants to establish good relations with the state of Qi very much. So, why not ask the king of Qi to send a message to the king of Chu as follows ： Please drive Ji Se out of your state and thus make trouble for him on my behalf. ? If the king of Chu listens to you, Qi and Chu can build an alliance with each other and Ji Se will be driven out of Chu. If the king of Chu doesn’t listen to you, it means that he has some underhand relations with the state of Han. ”
