权之难
The War in Quan
【原文】
权之难，燕再战不胜，赵弗救。哙子谓文公曰不如以地请合于齐，赵必救我。若不吾救，不得不事。”文公曰善令郭任以地请讲于齐。赵闻之，遂出兵救燕.
【今译】
权地一战，燕国在两次战役中都没能取胜，赵国没有进行营救。哈 子对燕文公说不如割让一些土地给齐国来请求跟它讲和，赵国一定 会营救我们。假如不营救我们，它就不得不侍奉齐国。”燕文公说好的派郭任进献土地请求跟齐国讲和。赵国听说了此事，急忙派兵营救燕国。
During the warfare in the area of Quan, the troops of the state of Yan launched two assaults on the troops of the state of Qi but could not defeat them. The state of Zhao did not send any reinforcements there to assist Yan, Kuaizi suggested to Duke Wen of Yan, “We，d better cede some land to the state of Qi to make peace with it, then the state of Zhao will definitey send reinforcements here to help us. If it doesn’t send reinforcements here，they will also be forced to yield to the state of Qi. ” Duke Wen said，“I will do that. ” Then he asked Guo Ren to cede some land to Qi and thus make peace with it. When the state of Zhao heard of this，it immediately sent troops to help the troops of Yan.
