Wei I Sent a Man to Work for the King of Wei I
【原文】
卫使客事魏，三年不得见。卫客患之，乃见梧下先生，许之以百金。 梧下先生曰：“诺.” 乃见魏王，曰：“臣闻秦出兵，未知其所之。秦、魏交 而不修之日久矣。愿王（博）[专]事秦,无有佗计。”魏王曰：“诺。”
【今译】
卫国派一个人到魏国去谋求侍奉魏王，三年都没有被召见。国 的客人担心了，就去拜见梧下先生，许诺送给他一百镒黄金,梧下先生 说好吧于是就去见魏王，说我听说秦国派兵出发了，但不知道他 们要到哪里。秦国和魏国建交后，已经好长时间没有互派使者修好了， 希望大王抓紧时间侍奉秦国，不要考虑别的。”魏王说：‘‘好的.”
The state of Wei T sent a man to work for the king of the state of Weill - However，he had not been summoned by the king for three years since he arrived there. The man was worried about it，so he went to see Mr Wuxia to ask him to introduce him to the king, and promised to present him with one hundred yi of gold, Mr Wuxia said, “I agree. ” Then he went to see the king of Wei II and said, “I heard that the state of Qin has dispatched its troops，but I do not know where they are marching to. After establishing ties with the state of Qin，we have not sent emissaries there to show our good will for a long time. I hope that you will take action to improve our relationship with the state of Qin immediately，and don’t think about anything else for the time being. ” The king said, “All right.”

客趋出，至郎门而反，曰:“臣恐王事秦之晚!”王曰：“何也？”先生 曰：“夫人于事己者过急，于事人者过缓。今王缓于事己者，安能急于事人？”“奚以知之？ ”“卫客曰事王三年不得见，臣是以知王缓也。”魏王趋 见卫客。
【今译】
梧下先生快步走了出去，到了廊门又返回来，说我担心您会耽搁 侍奉秦国一事。”魏王问为什冬？”梧下先生说人一般急于让人侍奉 自己，侍奉别人却拖拖拉拉,现在大王对于侍奉自己的人都拖拖拉拉，怎能急于侍奉别人呢？”“你通过什么知道的？”“卫国的客人说他侍奉大 王三年了，还没有得到召见.因此我知道大王拖拉啊。”魏王快步走去 接见卫国客人。
Mr Wuxia then walked quickly out. But when he reached the corridor gate, he turned back and said to the king，“I am afraid that you might delay improving our relations with Qin. ” The king asked，Why do you think so?” Mr Wuxia said: “According to the nature of human beings，they often hope others to serve them in a hurry，but when it comes to serving others, they normally delay doing so. You do not even demand others serve you in a hurry, so how can you take action to improve our ties with others urgently?” “How do you know that?” “Well，the guest from Wei I has been here serving you for three years? but you have not granted an interview to him. Judging from this, I know that you will postpone taking action, ” As a result, the king went quickly to visit the guest from Wei I .
