卫人迎新妇
A Bride on the First Day of Marriage in Wei
【原文】
为人迎新妇，妇上车，问骖马，谁马也？ ”御曰：“借之。”新妇谓仆 曰拊骖，无笞服！”车至门，扶，教送母广灭灶，将失火。”人室，见臼,曰：“徒之牗下，妨往来者。“主人笑之。
【今译】
卫国人迎娶新娘妇，新娘妇上了车，问道两边驾车的马是谁家 的？”车夫说：“是借来的。”新娘妇对车夫说打两边的马，不要鞭打中间的。”车子行驶到了家门口，扶她进门的时候，她教训送她的老妇说: “把灶里的火灭了，不然就会失火。”进到室内，看见一个石臼，就说把 它搬到窗户下面，在这里妨碍人们来回走路。”主人笑话她。
In the state of Wei，people went to collect the bride on the first day of her marriage. The bride got on the carriage and asked, “To whom do these two side horses belong?” The driver said, “We borrowed them from someone else.” The bride told the driver, Then whip those horses on the sides. Don’t whip those in the middle. ” When the carriage arrived at the door，people supported the bride with their hands. She then ordered the old woman accompanying her，“Put out the fire under the pot. Otherwise, there might be a fire. ” When she entered the house, she saw a mortar on the ground. She said:“Put it beside the window. It is in the way. ” The host laughed at her.

此三言者，皆要言也，然而不免为笑者，蚤晚之时失也。
【今译】
这三句话都是很重要的，然而她却不免被别人嘲笑，是因为不该在 刚过门的时候就说这样的话。
All these aforementioned sentences uttered by the bride are important. Nonetheless，she was still derided by others, since she didn’t express them at the right time.
