Sima Xi Served as Prime Minister Three Times
【原文】
司马憙三相中山，阴简难之.田简谓司马憙曰广赵使者来属耳，独 不可语阴简之美乎？赵必请之，君与之，即公无内难矣。君弗与赵，公 因劝君立之以为正妻，阴简之德公无所穷矣。”果令赵请，君弗与。司马 憙曰君弗与赵，赵王必大怒；大怒，则君必危矣！然则立以为妻，固无请人之妻不得而怨人者也。”田简自谓取使，可以为司马畜，可以为阴简，可以令赵勿请也。
【今译】
司马熹做过三次中山国的相国，阴简很忌恨他,田简对司马憙说: “赵国的使者来这里探听消息，您为什么不跟他说说阴简的美貌呢？赵 王一定会索要她，君主给了他，宫内就没有忌恨您的人了。君主不给 他，您就趁机劝说君主立她为正妻，阴简对您的感激一定是无穷的司 马熹果然让赵王索要阴简，中山国的君主不给他。司马熹说您不給 赵国，赵王一定会十分生气。他生气了。您就有危险了。可是如果把她立为正妻，本来就没有因为索要别人的妻子不如愿就怨恨人家的道 理啊,田简自认为这么做可以帮司马憙的忙，可以帮阴简的忙，还可以让 赵国不索要阴简.
Sima Xi had been appointed to be prime minister of the state of Zhongshan for three times. Yin Jian the name of a beautiful woman in the palace) was jaundiced towards him.
