出租车，台湾称作计程车，港澳区称为的士，新加坡及马来西亚一带则称为德士：是按表收费的交通工具，收费一般较其他交通工具高。通常我们在赶时间的时候会选择打出租，出租车更方便、快捷。
英语情景会话
A：Taxi, Taxi.
A：出租车，出租车。
B: Yes, madam. where are you going?
B：好的，夫人，你去哪儿？
A:I am going to the Chinese Consulate General at 520, 12th Ave.
A：我到第12条大街520号的中国总领事馆。
B：Get on, please.
B：请上车。
A: Thank you. Can we get there in half an hour, sir?
A：谢谢。我们可以在半小时之内赶到吗，先生？
B:I am not sure, madam. Generally we can. but look at the traffic. It's the rush hour at noon.
B：说不定，夫人。一般来讲，可以在半小时内到达。但是你看现在的交通，正中午是最拥挤的时候。
A:l am leaving for Boston at l:20 pm on a Greyhound.I'll have to go back to the Consulate General to pick up my baggage.

B: Goodness me. We are really in a hurry.
