i often ate chinese food when 1 was young in canada.one time i went into a restau-rant and ordered a“fried rice”.when the waiter repeated the order to me,however,i was startled.he had trouble pro-nouncing the letter“r”,so it sounded to me like he said,“okay, you want one fly lice.”
