名人教英文：笼里鸡作反
都说，有人的地方就有政治，有政治的地方，就会发生自己人打自己人的场面，即窝里斗。这个窝，英文不叫nest，讲in-house，指一间屋内的、同一屋檐下的﹔而斗，就是fighting。
窝里斗，in-house fighting，常简化做infighting。
the opposition camp lost the election due to infighting. 反对阵营因为内斗，输了选举。
有个相近的字，feud（发音 few + d ）多指兄弟阋墙、家族争产之类﹕
family feud（家族内斗）—— there is an age-old feud between the two families. 这两家人有世仇。
gang feud（帮派斗争）—— there was a long-standing feud between the two gangs. 这两帮人有夙怨。
但引伸开去，任何款式的围内争权夺利，一样用得上。看这条早前论述特首选举的新闻标题﹕
feud for top job alters balance of power. 为抢高位而生的窝里斗，改变了权力平衡。
留意feud也可作动词，后面跟with﹕
the twins are always feuding with each other. 那对双生儿老是彼此不和。
每出现内哄，总有给视为「反骨、反转猪肚」分子，我们口语形容的「食碗面、反碗底」之人，英文可说﹕
he bites the hand that feeds him.
他咬喂他的手。
用英文讲「笼里鸡作反」，千万不要直译 "chicken in cage revolting against" 什么的，一般用mutiny一字就得。mutiny原本指船上的水手串连倒戈，背叛船长，后来就拉阔来用，至包括任何叛乱、兵变。到了今日，所有群起推倒权力象征的行为，any uprising against a designated authority，都可叫做mutiny。
he was a victim of the office mutiny last year. 他是去年公司一场「笼里鸡作反」的受害人。而一只「作反的鸡」，是a mutineer。
mutiny这字，乍听似乎很夸张「大单」，却可用做日常口语﹕
那个宴会中的人，喧哗嘈吵手舞足蹈得like animals mutinying in a zoo，像动物园内的动物在作反！
