乔安妮看见科拉收养的婴儿，赞美说﹕isn't she just cute。事实上，无论人家的婴儿漂不漂亮，见到总是说「漂亮」、「可爱」等。常用句式有﹕(1) isn't he darling / sweet / adorable / beautiful! (2) what a cute / sweet baby!
要说「婴儿真像父亲/母亲」，英文是﹕he is an exact copy / replica / miniature of his father / mother。copy和replica都是「复制品」，miniature则是「缩小的物品」。要说「婴儿像父母的混合体」，英文是﹕he is a combination of his father and mother。
要说「婴儿的眼睛/嘴巴像父亲/母亲」，英文是﹕he's got his father's（或mother's）eyes / mouth或his eyes are / mouth is like his father's（或mother's）。
又见到人家的婴儿，除了问what's his name?，常问的问题还有﹕was he early / late?（是早产/迟产的吗？）how much does he weigh?（他有多重？）are you going to breastfeed or bottlefeed?（你会给他吃母乳还是牛乳？）can i hold him?（我可以抱抱他吗？）
科拉不是阿曼达．玛丽亚的生母，而是养母。「收养」英文叫adoption，所以「收养的孩子」是an adopted child，而其养父母则是adoptive parents，叫foster parents也可以。至于亲生父母，叫biological parents、natural parents或birth parents都可以，例如﹕she is more devoted to her foster mother than to her biological mother（她爱她养母多于生母）。
