jack, put a comb through your hair
vera: wasn't that a lovely ceremony? kelly is such a lovely bride. where do we go now?
jack: we've got to go outside the church on the front steps for the wedding photographs.
photographer:now can i have the bride and groom first please, on the top of the steps in the middle.
vera: oh doesn't she look lovely? that dress must have cost a fortune.
jack: the bridegroom looks pretty good too. he's so like his father.
vera: come on now, it's the family group photograph next. let me straighten your tie. and jack, put a comb through your hair; it's so untidy.
(2) the blow knocked his glasses/hat askew(那一击,把他的眼镜/帽子撞歪了)。
「弄正领带」,除了说to straighten one's tie,还可说to adjust one's tie,例如﹕he adjusted his tie in front of the mirror(他对着镜子,弄正领带)。
薇拉又说杰克头发凌乱﹕it's so untidy。 (2) what a sight you look, with your hair all dishevelled(你的头发这么凌乱,样子真难看)。
梳理头发,可以说to put/run/drag/draw a comb through one's hair,这个comb当然是指「梳子」。comb也可以指「梳理」,例如﹕(1) your hair need a good comb(你得好好梳梳头发)。(2) i gave my hair a comb (= i combed my hair) before i went out(我出门之前,梳了梳头发)。
听见人家说"i'm having a bad hair day",你就知道他那一天很不顺利了。
